Will $1,000 per sq. ft. be the new norm for Boston condos? In a recent article in Boston Magazine it stated that in 2013 only seven percent of Boston condos sold for $1,000 per square foot or higher in Boston hottest neighborhoods.
By 2014 the number of Boston condos that sold for $1,000 per square foot in Boston’s most desirable neighborhoods jumped up to 12%.
But if you think you can save money by moving out to the close neighborhoods outside of Boston, think again. For example the number of condominiums sales below $500,000 in Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville. In 2013 there were 903 condos that sold for under $500,000, by 2014 that number dropped to 597.
