From a reader, regarding imminent plans to close the popular Tremont Street eatery, Garden of Eden:
They are likely selling to prevent being seized by the State DOR. There are a number of tax liens filed against them for unpaid taxes (meals, w/h) going back for years, totaling $500,000 +/-.
I wish the family all the best in getting out of this mess, but this is money that customers and employees pay to support state and local services.
