Recently, Harris Interactive had an online poll Most Prestigious Occupations which places real estate agents at the bottom of the list.
The National Association of Realtors countered that “agents” was too broad a term; if Harris had substituted “Realtor”, the results would have been different.
In NAR’s opinion, Realtor is to Real Estate Agent as Mercedes is to Car.
Um, I guess?
So, it made me wonder – does the average person know the difference between a real estate agent and a Realtor. Does the average person’s opinion of the average real estate agent differ from the average person’s opinion of the average Realtor.
