My grocery story

I went grocery shopping for our weekend barbeque. As the high school student was putting the groceries into the last bag, I asked, “Will it all fit?”

“Yes,” he replied but it will be a little heavy and little awkward, but it all will fit.”

I thought, “that’s the story of my life, a little heavy and a little awkward.”

Last weekend, I took a break from renting out Boston Beacon Hill apartments and showing Boston Beacon Hill condos for sale. So, I accepted an invitation to spend some time at my buddies house in Maine.

I thought it would be a nice gesture to buy some groceries. As I finished my grocery shopping, the guy in front of me in the grocery store checkout line was buying just three things: a case of beer, a cartoon of cigarettes, and a gallon of milk. the total came out to $75.00. He stood there for a minute in disbelief on these new inflated prices. Finally, he asked the cashier, “How much was that milk?”
