It’s something I just don’t understand.
Let’s assume the real estate industry changes over the coming years, so that there’s a bunch of “for sale by owner” websites, plus the local MLS, craigslist, etc.
How do sellers expect buyers to find their listings? Search each of the websites? How will buyers know about all the websites? Does a seller want to take a chance that he/she hasn’t listed the property everywhere?
That is one good thing about the way things are done, currently. Almost all listings go into your local MLS, so buyers’ agents have one, central database to search to find suitable homes for their buyers.
In the future, things could get very messy.
