First time buyers saving for a Boston condo

Anne and Ray arrived at Market Basket for their weekly grocery shop.

“Croissants?” Ray asked, eying a packet.

“Let’s keep to the essentials,” Anne said. “Remember we’re saving for a Boston condo.”

“I guess beers are out of the question then?” he said, with pleading eyes.

Anne shook her head. “No beer for you, we need the money for down payment on a Boston condo for sale.”

Back at their Beacon Hill apartment, seated in front of the TV, Anne ripped the packaging off a luxury box of chocolates.

“Hey, wait a minute,” Ray said. “We can’t afford them, we’re saving for a Boston condo.”

Anne looked like she’d taken offence. Pushing a large piece of chocolate into her mouth, she said, “Everyone’s allowed the occasional treat, aren’t they?”
