Can MLS and Boston real estate brokers survive in 10 years?
I stumbled across a WSJ article that financial transactions, including Real Estate, are evolving. As one considers the advancements in Software through other industries it is important to look at the current Boston condo for sale model and how it has yet to evolve in today’s high tech society.
Zillow.com has had many focus groups on current trends, needs and interests for Real Estate professionals. One overall conclusion is that the current MLS model is broken and that the fragmented nature of having so many regional MLS services nationwide is dated and is in need of change.Presently, Zillow with a greater grip on regional power of Boston condo brokers could be in a place to supersede these regional MLS monopolies.
Sure, this would not be easy. It would also likely take a partnership with Realtor, one or two of the big brokerages like Compass, Keller Williams, ReMax, ect but it is something to look out for. The article below, that I mentioned earlier outlines how fast the next moves in software as they pertain to finance and Real Estate will happen.
