Great article in today’s Boston Globe Magazine giving an overview of all the new, luxury condominium developments going up around the city.
Included in the list are:
Battery Wharf: to be completed by end of year or early 2008, 104 one to three bedroom homes available, from 900 to 3,200 square feet. 24-hour concierge and valet services available, as will 24-hour housekeeping and 24-hour in-room dining and catering services, an 18,000 square foot spa and health club, and onsite marina.
Located next door, with services available to residences’ owners, will be the luxury, 150-unit Regent International Hotel.
The InterContinental: already completed, 130 one to three bedroom homes available. 24-hour concierge and valet services, 24-hour dining services, onsite pool. Above a new InterContinental hotel.
The Mandarin Oriental: to be completed sometime this year, 50 one to three bedroom homes available; apparently, only one remains for sale. The project’s two 14-story buildings will include a 5-star hotel, 50 ultra-luxury condominiums, thirty-five apartments, a spa, restaurants, and high-end retail shops.
Units are priced in the $2 million – $12 million range.
45 Province: under construction with a completion date in 2009, this is a 31-story mixed-use project with street level retail, and residential space on levels 7-31, a health club on levels 11-12, and an 8-level parking facility on levels 2 -6, and 3 levels below grade.
45 Province is reaching out to the very high-end buyer; its services will be unlike any other in the city, to this point. From the upper-floors, you’ll have great views of downtown and the Back Bay.
These are a welcomed addition to the housing stock in Boston – until just a couple years ago, high-end buyers had to choose between living in a 100-year-old, five-story building … and little else, actually.
Prices for these new homes are in the $1,200 – $1,600 per square-foot range.
