Beacon Hill broker and a morning without Google

Steve a Boston Beacon Hill broker made himself a cup of coffee, opened his laptop and logged onto Google, but his screen was blank.

He clicked on other news websites, but there was nothing there either.

He heard voices in the lobby. He got up and opened his front door. His neighbors, most in PJs, were gathering near the elevator. Maybe they know what’s going on, he thought.

Matt ventured into the lobby. Nobody knew why there was no news, but they all gathered the entrance lobby with the concierge and talked over coffee the rest of the morning.

We get so absorbed in the news that we sometimes forget the people right in front of us .Perhaps we need to be the ones reaching out to our neighbors, friends and family and even the concierge for face-to-face time.
