When his family were ejected from their Boston West End home, they were told it now belonged to the State of Massachusetts. More accurately, it belonged to a real estate developer, with the expertise to reduce to plight of the brick buildings and broken down single family homes. He was told by the Governor “Knocking down the brick apartment buildings benefits the common good and, indirectly, his family too.”
Now several decades later, visiting the West End, know known as Charles River Park, he still remembers the sounds of the children playing ball on the streets. The traditional families – which now houses single high paid executives living in Boston luxury condos, high rise apartments, but no sounds of children playing ball on the streets.
