Sale of Fan Pier parcel appears imminent, the Pritzker family has found a buyer for their property on Fan Pier.
By Scott Van Voorhis, Boston Herald
The Pritzker family will decide as early as next week which developer will get the nod to buy the coveted Fan Pier building site on South Boston’s waterfront.
A few contestants, including Florida home building giant Lennar Corp. and local residential developer Roy MacDowell, have emerged to bid for the key waterfront site and its city- and state-approved $1.2 billion harborside building plan, real estate executives say.
After well more than a year of marketing and two deals that blew up in the final stages, the Pritzkers, owners of the Chicago-based Hyatt hotel empire, are now looking at bids in the $100 million range, down from the original asking price of $125 million, executives said.
