Some crackpot says that there are too many Boston office buildings about to break ground.
According to The Boston Business Journal:
“There’s clearly not enough demand to fill all of the buildings that are being talked about,” said [Edward] Linde during a panel presentation. “Unfortunately, we’re not seeing the kind of growth in our market in general that’s really going to create the scarcity and upward pressure on rents.”
Pfff. Obviously, this guy knows nothing about the downtown Boston real estate market.
Edward Linde said there is not enough demand from office tenants to support the number of large office towers proposed in Boston. The remarks, made Wednesday at a real estate conference, were ironic given Linde’s company, Boston Properties Inc., is building a 500,000-square-foot office tower called Russia Wharf.
Whoops.
