Boston Beacon Hill Apartment Renter – She’s Ashamed

Jenny was ashamed and angry today. One year since lung cancer took her father, and it still hurts like hell that she didn’t encourage him to quit smoking.

Making her angrier as she looks out her Beacon Hill apartment window was seeing people walking down Charles Street and smoking. Selfish idiots! Men, women and even teenagers. All slowly destroying many lives.

As she leaves her Beacon Hill apartment for a morning jog, she saw an older man standing outside Starbucks, smoking.

She mumbled in a low voice, “Sir, those stupid things are killing you!”

He ignored her.

Back at her Beacon Hill apartment, she cried. Her grief, people, everything; it was too much.

Trembling, she went into her desk and pulled out her hand help device, and started vaping.

At least, she’s ashamed.

I don’t understand why people smoke, but than again, people say the same thing about me, having an evening glass of wine or beer.
