I’m not sure what’s going on, but I feel like lately I’m attending a lot of funerals.
Perhaps it’s because I’m getting older.
I hear a lot of people say they want to be cremated.
Definitely a shift in how people are looking at their lives,
People used to want a big block of granite.
Their name carved into it with a chisel.
“I was here. god-damn it!”
Cremation’s like you’re trying to cover up a crime.
“Burn the body, scatter the ashes,
this whole thing never happened.”
It seems impolite
I feel the least I can do at my own funeral is to show up.
Everybody I Know is going to be there.
I want to be there too.
A cremation is like,
“The host is burnt out.
The party is over.”
