A couples dream of buying a Beacon Hill condo

Mark and Jen signed an agreement that they saved for years. At last they had enough and were able to move out of their Boston Beacon Hill apartment. They remember when the Beacon Hill condo agent showed them round the scruffy condominium. It was located at the top of the hill and needed some work, but to them it was a palace, with a small kitchen, a bathroom room and two bedrooms. Two!

The seller accepted their bid and the apartment was theirs. Or it would be when the mortgage was paid off in thirty years.

They sold the old furniture, moved in and went for a drink. Just the one — because now they had that mortgage to pay.
