Story of a Boston Seaport condo broker ordering furniture. Today one of elderly clients asked me to help her confirm a furniture delivery. She was having a problem with the companies automated voice system.

This is what happened:

I was on the phone to trying to confirm her Boston Seaport condo furniture delivery. “If you like to arrange a delivery date, please press one,” the automated voice prompted me. “If you would like to confirm a delivery, please press two.” At that moment Mona who was sitting next to me let out an ear-piercing shout, “What the hell are you ordering furniture without consulting with me.” “I’m sorry,” the automated voice said, “that is not a valid response.”
