Back Bay condo broker kicking the can

The Back Bay condo broker ignores the judgmental looks he incurs form the Stop & Shop patrons, his paper bag is overflowing with diet coke cans. The first bottle return machine is broken. He only has short amount of time till his Back Bay condo showing, he moves towards the next can return machine.

Slowly putting cans in, 10 cents, 20 cents- the machine keeping tab for him. “Please keep excepting these cans,” he whispers. “Can’t read, bar code” the red screen flashes at him – spitting the can out. He smooths out the dents, tries again.

The can is inserted and spit out from the machine and drops to the floor. The Back Bay broker looks at his cell phone, and in frustration leaves not before kicking the can.
