A Beacon Hill Birthday Story

It was the birthday of a Beacon Hill kindergarten teacher, and she was receiving gifts from her pupils. The son of a Beacon Hill florist handed her a box. “I bet I know what it is.” the teacher said. “flowers!”

“That’s right,” said the boy

Next, the daughter of a candy store owner on Charles Street handed her a box “Is it assorted chocolates?”

“Yes.” Said the girl

The next gift was from a son of a Bar owner in Beacon Hill. The package was leaking, so the teacher touched a drop of the liquid with her finger and tasted it.

“Is it wine?” she asked..

“No,” the boy replied excitedly

The teacher tasted another drop. “Is it champagne?”

The boy, laughing shook his head.

The teacher took one more taste before declaring, “I give up what is it?”

“Its a puppy!”
