My take on the big picture of the Boston condo market
Sometimes it is interesting to look at the big picture. We can see that the number of Boston condos for sale is trending down but the numbers are way above what we saw during the crash.
The national; housing market peaked during the pandemic, it is reminiscent of the peak in 2006. Going forward the unemployment rate and mortgage interest rates will influence where the housing market goes from here.
At an early glance, I have reasons for concern, as stated in the earlier Boston real estate blog post, interest rates are inching back up, after dropping earlier. The tech employment picture, a driving force of the Boston condo-for-sale market, has me concerned.
