After my Boston condo showing. I went grocery shopping
I was moving up on the line, I grab the plastic divider and placed it behind the groceries of the individual ahead of me.
I took my groceries from my cart and placed them on the moving belt.
I watched a young woman bagging groceries ahead of me. She was short. Her face was flat, and her head was small. Her eyes were shaped like almonds. Her name tag said Dorothy.
When I was growing up, there was a boy in our neighborhood who looked like this. I never knew his name.
As the cashier scanned my items, I stepped forward to the bagging area.
“May I help you, Dorothy?”
“Sure,” she said with a smile.
We stood there, side by side, bagging groceries together.

Yesterday, was one of those days that I was inspired by the kindness of others. This is a short story that happened after I ended my day showing Boston condos for sale.
After work I went grocery shopping. I was third in line at the checkout, and the lady at the cashier was purchasing basic items. Two cans of cat food, a can of tuna, a loaf of bread, a quart of milk, a package of cookies. Her money was in her hand as the cashier gave her the total. She was 86 cents short. She checked her purse to no avail. “I can put something back,” she said. The man ahead of me reached into his pocket, palmed a dollar, bent down as if to pick something up, and said, “I think you dropped this.”
How can you not love downtown Boston?
