I hate real estate acronyms
I try to write in such a way that people don’t need to look up a bunch of three-letter acronyms to try and figure out what I am writing about. Did you know that critical race theory is now CRT which also stands for “Cathode Ray Tube” and “Community Response Team” and “Commuter Rail Transit”
I recently read some comments on a website left by a Realtor and she referred to FPC and CFA. I decided that I am not even going to ask.
Once a Boston real estate buyer asked about a GDO, and I was sure they didn’t mean “girls day out” so after looking it up that it means “garage door opener” and EM means “earnest money” In some government agencies EM is short for employment, and sometimes it is short for “email” which is actually short for “electronic mail”.
It is hard to think of any three-letter acronym that doesn’t have multiple meanings.
