Good timing: Liberty Mutual closes on new acquisition

From Banker & Tradesman:
On Monday, Liberty Mutual completed the $6.2 billion acquisition of Safeco Corp. Congrats!
On Tuesday, Fitch Ratings downgraded the value of the company’s bonds from ‘BBB+’ to ‘BBB’ and IFS from ‘A’ to ‘A-’. Whoops!

Breaking: Rudi’s to open in South End

According to Tom Palmer’s blog, Rudi’s, the well-known Rowes Wharf cafe / sandwich shop, will be opening a second restaurant at 811 Massachusetts Ave, hopefully by October 15th.
This would put it in the Hampton Inn / Crosstown Center building.



Breaking: Battery Wharf project signs new hotel

Battery Wharf is a multi-use project on Boston Harbor, in Boston’s Waterfront neighborhood. It includes residences, a hotel, and a spa, among other amenities.
The hotel was supposed to be managed by Regent, but they pulled out, earlier this year.
The Globe is reporting that a replacement has been found.
