Having received proposals from 238 suitors, including Boston, Massachusetts, Amazon has just released its short-list of 20 cities that are still in the running to secure the second North American headquarters, to be with Seattle, dubbed “HQ2.”

- Indianapolis, IN
- Los Angeles, CA
- Miami, FL
- Montgomery County, MD
- Nashville, TN

- New York City, NY
- Northern Virginia, VA
- Philadelphia, PA
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Raleigh, NC
- Toronto, ON
- Washington D.C.
A key criteria for the $5 billion development is “the potential to attract and retain strong technical talent” and Amazon is planning to announce a winner by the end of this year.
