Nice. Now what the heck is a solar power trash recepticle??? :-)
Awesome! It’s about time.
How do I get one for my area. I sometimes have to sweep 5 times a day.
Solar powered trash receptacles automatically compact trash, holding 5 times as much as a normal trash can, preventing overflow, wind-blown litter, and keeping animals and birds out of the trash. It’s called the “BigBelly” and is made by a Massachusetts company, BigBelly Solar. It runs entirely on solar energy, and saves diesel garbage truck trips to collect the trash. The City of Boston has installed nearly 200 of these machines in many neighborhoods.
OMG! That’s a trash bin!?!? This explains why my packages aren’t being delivered. Geesh.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda. The company that produces these trashcans won the Babson College business plan competition a few years back. They were desperate for capital at the time…
What a great idea. Especially with the cost of gas.
