Photo of the day: NYC high-rise gets creative

I love this photo, from today’s Times, courtesy of the architect.

The developer couldn’t get the owners of the brownstone to sell, so it built around it.

(The article doesn’t mention it, but this situation was obviously more complex than as described - there is no way you can simply build over someone else’s building without his / her consent.)
