The most amazing photo set, EVER

Just found out about this photo set.

Photos of Boston between 1956 - 1972 (and on ’til today, actually).

New England Life building, under construction, 1962.

State House lawn, 1957. Ha ha. Try to get away with that sort of thing, today.

Faneuil Hall and Government Center, 1962. Oh, god, what have we done???

    Hmm.

Actually, the photo of the creche might not be right on the State House lawn, it may be across the

street, on the Boston Common. I dunno.

Great photos, especially the third one.

Great pix. Just below Faneuil Hall (lower right corner of 3rd

photo) was a restaurant called “Mondo’s”, in the market, open 24/7. As a night worker during

college, I used to have lunch there at 3 AM, with many folks still out from the previous night.

Unlike Buzzy’s, the food was pretty good, as food market workers insisted on that.

I found these onine the other day

too. I can’t believe Faneuil Hall looks so different. Check out all the demo pictures of Scollay

Sq to make it what we know it as today: Gov
