   Frankly, if all lenders were straight-shooters, I’d say this measure is

   ridiculous but in the context of things, it’s somewhat appropriate. Many lenders are not

   responsible and take advantage of people who are not educated enough to see the full implications

   of their decision. Have you ever heard a lender go over additional costs you will have to face as

   a homeowner. In some towns those can be sewage, trash collection, pet registration fees, etc.

   Some lenders are dishonest in their assessments and this would make them think twice before they

   stick a loan to someone they know fair well will probably never be able to repay.

   I agree with you, and there should be NO support

   from the government for anyone who can’t afford their mortgage and goes into forecloseure. Can’t

   afford your adjustable rate mortgage? Sell!

   wanted to check in to see if there was any follow-up. and again, I have to say:

   People need

   to take responsibility for themselves.

   Lenders lend. They don’t owe me anything else; I

   owe them. Pet registration IS NOT the responsibility of the bank. It’s my responsibility. If I

   borrow too much money, it’s my own goddamn fault.

   I have a headache…

   Our lender kept asking why we wanted a 30yr fixed if we were probably going

   to move again before 5/10 years. Because of the situation we’re in now - rates going up, market

   going down.

   You can say “no” to them. I did.

   Nope. And I’ve never had a car

   salesman tell me how much gas a car uses (unless it’s high mileage, then it’s a feature). Or tell

   me about the brakes I’ll be replacing in the future.

   Maybe they should pass a law that if I

   can’t afford my car, I can get back all the money I’ve spent on gas.

   That would be

   sweet.

   Voting for Patrick was a huge mistake, he has ducked all of his campaign promises

   (”we don’t have the money for anti-gang funding” - but you can loan to people who are

   overextended? WTF?) and is doing stupid crap like this. Gah.
