Welcome!

My name is John A Keith. I am a real estate broker in Boston. Along with my team of agents, I help buyers and sellers of homes throughout Boston, including the South End, Back Bay, and Beacon Hill neighborhoods.

If you are thinking of buying or selling a condominium in Boston, please contact me to learn ways in which I can help.

There is a lot of useful information on my site, starting with the blog entries in the middle column. I update my site three or four times a day, so check back often.

On my site, you can search through all of the listings in the local Multiple Listing Service (MLSPIN) . If you wish to receive daily emails of new listings as they come on the market, sign-up today.

You can review news by topic, by clicking on any one of the "tags" or "categories". You can also review news in the archive, sorted by month. See details in the right-hand column.

If you are thinking of moving to Boston and want to learn more about each neighborhood and search through listings by neighborhood, choose a neighborhood from the table of contents, in the right-hand column.

Also, you can click through on links for more information of value to buyers and sellers.

If you click on the "new projects" link you can learn about all the new developments under construction and recently completed, throughout the city of Boston.

Please contact me for more information or to learn about how I can assist you as a buyer's agent or with selling your home.

North Station + Bulfinch Triangle area hits a roadbump

It’s aggravating to hear when developers either delay or out-right cancel their projects.
Unfortunately, it looks as though two North Station developments might end up that way.
Avenir Boston, as most people know by now, is “re-valuating” their sales strategy. The project may become rentals, instead. (My advice? Pay your monthly mortgage on the land, [...]

East Boston waterfront sees great improvements in its future

The East Boston waterfront, with great views of downtown Boston, and just minutes away from the rest of the city, by car, MBTA, and boat (?), is going to see great changes, in the near future.
East Pier Boston is about to begin construction (you can see the banner announcing the project, off in the distance, [...]

Boston condo sales drop, but how good is the data?

Third quarter sales are down in the city, apparently, according to a story in yesterday’s Globe.
The data they use, from LINK, is accurate, to a point, but I recommend buyers and sellers rely solely on numbers put out by the Warren Group (including my own numbers!).
While the National Association of Realtors (and the Massachusetts [...]

Total # of condos for sale in the city of Boston: 2,826 (2,846)
Average # of days on market: 132 (129)
Median price of all condos for sale in the city of Boston: $392,700 ($389,900)
Average price of all condos [...]

Wait, can we get back to that thing about falling sales prices and increases in inventory?

Did you get the feeling this week that maybe the press had changed the story from “housing market in free-fall” to “housing market stabilizes, good times on tap!”?
I did.
Neither is accurate, in my opinion.
I feel as though prices in Boston may have bottomed out, and that sales volume will remain at its current pace, for [...]

Boston graced by presence of starchitect - tower in sight?

Makes sense, right?
Gonna build a tower out of character with the rest of Boston?
Bring in an architect from out of town.
Deadlines for propsosals were the end of this month, I believe.
Local architects fear that out-of-town rivals have the inside track to design the proposed tower that would be the city’s architectural statement of the 21st [...]
