Welcome!

My name is John A Keith. I am a real estate broker in Boston. Along with my team of agents, I help buyers and sellers of homes throughout Boston, including the South End, Back Bay, and Beacon Hill neighborhoods.

If you are thinking of buying or selling a condominium in Boston, please contact me to learn ways in which I can help.

There is a lot of useful information on my site, starting with the blog entries in the middle column. I update my site three or four times a day, so check back often.

On my site, you can search through all of the listings in the local Multiple Listing Service (MLSPIN) . If you wish to receive daily emails of new listings as they come on the market, sign-up today.

You can review news by topic, by clicking on any one of the "tags" or "categories". You can also review news in the archive, sorted by month. See details in the right-hand column.

If you are thinking of moving to Boston and want to learn more about each neighborhood and search through listings by neighborhood, choose a neighborhood from the table of contents, in the right-hand column.

Also, you can click through on links for more information of value to buyers and sellers.

If you click on the "new projects" link you can learn about all the new developments under construction and recently completed, throughout the city of Boston.

Please contact me for more information or to learn about how I can assist you as a buyer's agent or with selling your home.

Finding an apartment: an unpleasant, miserable experience for all involved

You have to agree, finding an apartment can be a miserable experience. You call around to find an agency, or you spend all day, and all of the night, looking online at craigslist.
Ugh.

No, especially when [...]

Your mortgage loan company is your friend … no, really

So, in order to buy a home over the past couple of years, more and more people have turned to “exotic” loans. You know, interest only loans, and option ARMs.
Option ARMs are where buyers have a choice of payments to make on their mortgage loans. Borrowers can pay the typical [...]

Local seller slammed by slower real estate market

According to Kiplinger’s, sellers are in rough waters, right now.
Their best example? The poor sap in this story who couldn’t sell his Boston condo, for three and a half months (can you imagine it???), this past year.
Passengers on the Poseidon aren’t the only people in distress this summer. Condo owners, who had been cruising [...]

Fannie Mae economist: Home affordability to improve, over the coming months

Fannie Mae’s board of economists have come out with a new prediction on the direction of housing prices and interest rates, over the coming months.
Hey, their predictions are as good as anyone else’s, right
What do they foresee?
Well, first, they say that, over the past 12 months, housing affordability has improved.
“During this period, the [...]

Buying a property with your unmarried partner can cause trouble

So, what if you decide, for whatever reason, to buy a property with your lover? Or, with a friend? Is it possible? Yes, of course. Is it easy? Not too difficult - most real estate lawyers, in this day and age, have handled these types of transactions.
Definitely check with an attorney, [...]

Ex-Red Sox player sells his condo at the Ritz

According to the Globe:
Former Red Sox shortstop Edgar Renteria’s 1,504-square-foot penthouse condo at the Ritz Towers was sold to Amy J. Mercier and John J. Morgan for $1.599 million.
