Ritz-Carlton to change ownership?
From The Inside Track, in the Boston Herald early last week:
Don’t breathe a word of this. Because nobody’s supposed to know. But word outta the Back Bay is that the employees of the Ritz-Carlton have been told that the grand dame on Arlington Street may soon be under new management.
We hear the hotel’s owners, Millennium Partners, are considering selling the property to another hotel chain, possibly the St. Regis, although other likely suspects include Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and The Peninsula group.
“Nothing is done yet,” said one insider. “But they did tell the staff that they are negotiating with another hotel.”
Apparently, the deal would only involve the “old” Ritz, not the new Ritz, facing the Boston Common.
No matter who buys it, I hope they re-open the bar!
