Two South End buildings for sale

Two listings that I found interesting, in this week’s South End News.

The Sriberg Furniture building is for sale. It is a four-story, 19500 square foot building at 1938-1946 Washington Street. That puts it on the other side of Mass Ave.

I like that building. I’ve always been surprised that it was still in business as a furniture company. Who knows what’s next. Conversion? It is on a pretty desolate block, not scary but barren. Put it another way, I’d live there in a second! Price: $2,650,000.

Update: From MLS: Site was previously approved for approx. 49,500 GSF mixed use facility with 33 residential units, approx. 6,500 SF of retail/commercial space and 25 underground parking spaces and 1 off-street loading bay.

Also, a five story four unit is on the market at 102 Appleton is on the market for $1,695,000. Don’t know if those numbers mean you could convert it, or have to live in a couple floors and rent out the rest. Might be worth a look.

Let me know what you think!
