Columbus Center developer facing an uncertain market
Scott Van Voorhis of The Boston Herald has a column out today about the Columbus Center development. This is the massive project planned for the area between the South End and Back Bay, over the Mass Turnpike.
The real estate sales market has cooled this fall, and Mr. Van Voorhis suggests that the developer, Arthur Winn, might be having second thoughts about breaking ground on the project.
The signs are sobering: hundreds of price reductions each week in Boston alone, empty open houses and suddenly picky buyers with the luxury of lots of tires to kick.
So does Winn damn the torpedoes and barrel ahead with both projects in the teeth of a waning residential market? Or does he put one
